About The Position

Develops and documents complex electronic and electrical system requirements for maintenance equipment and aircraft subsystems. Translates requirements into system, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications. Designs electrical wiring required to adapt to test articles and sub-assemblies. Performs hardware and software integration support for system development and testing. Performs system schematic analysis and design for electrical systems. Selects electrical hardware including cables, connectors, shielding, and terminal blocks. Develops electrical interface cables between electrical systems and aircraft platforms. Performs system test requirements analysis and verification or selloff activities. Utilizes Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools including DOORS and Cameo for system definition and trade studies. Supports lab or flight test instrumentation and data acquisition.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of familiarity with electrical avionics system design including electrical systems and subsystems design, interface cable design, hardware or software integration, and general test experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of VPX or VME form factor.
  • Experience or knowledge of RS422, RS232, PC104, TCP/IP, Ethernet, IEEE-488, MMSI, and MIL-STD-1553 communication standards and protocols.
  • Technical system domain knowledge of air vehicle or weapons systems.
  • Experience with product or systems development and integration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cyber security principles or cyber certifications.
  • Experience or knowledge of network design and common military standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1472).
  • Experience with CAD and creating electrical schematics, implementation of systems engineering tools (DOORS, CAMEO), and CompTIA Security+ Certification.
