About The Position

Savanna Well Servicing is looking to grow its business and is currently hiring for the role of Service Rig Derrickhand based out of field offices in Western Canada. The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Driller/Operator with the monitoring of mud volumes and maintenance of equipment required for completion of the job. This position also assigns junior crew members to complete tasks on the rig floor, as required.

• Attentiveness and good listening skills
• Reliable with strong safety values
• Relevant functional and technical skills
• 1-2 years of experience as a Service Rig Derrickhand
• Valid H2S Alive certification, First Aid Certification and CSO

Nice To Haves

• Enform Derrickhand Competency preferred
• Class 5 Driver's License with airbrakes endorsement preferred
• Class 1 or 3 Driver's License considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Aids the Driller/Operator in overseeing all of the well servicing rig process
• Effectively handles rods/tubulars
• Monitors fluids systems
• Services rig engines
• Supervises floorhands and other labourers, as needed
• Other duties as assigned
