About The Position

The Skin Surgery Center at Hickory is seeking a dedicated Dermatology Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver excellent patient care in a collaborative, patient-focused practice. The center provides medical dermatology, skin cancer care, and cosmetic treatments. The role supports examinations and procedures, patient education, clinical operations, and office coordination.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Understanding of medical terminology, especially in dermatology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare instruments, equipment, and procedure rooms.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for analysis.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and office communications.
• Educate patients about treatments, medications, and appropriate skincare.
• Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
