About The Position

The Skin Surgery Center at Hickory is seeking a dedicated Dermatology Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver excellent patient care in a collaborative, patient-focused practice. The center provides medical dermatology, skin cancer care, and cosmetic treatments. The role includes preparing patients for examinations and procedures, supporting clinical and office operations, and helping patients understand treatments, medications, and skincare.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Understanding of medical terminology, especially in dermatology.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare instruments, equipment, and procedure rooms.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for analysis.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and office communications.
• Educate patients about treatments, medications, and appropriate skincare.
• Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
