About The Position

Dermatology & Advanced Skin Care is a growing, multi-doctor dermatology practice seeking a Lead Medical Assistant. This role involves assisting providers with medical, cosmetic, and surgical appointments, scribing, managing patient inquiries, and performing administrative tasks. The Lead Medical Assistant will also serve as a point of contact for task updates, prior authorizations, and representative follow-ups, ensuring daily checklists are completed, rooms are stocked and clean, and new MAs are trained. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, reliability, computer proficiency with EMR experience, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist providers with medical dermatology, cosmetic, and surgery appointments.
Scribe for providers and answer patient questions under provider guidance.
Perform administrative tasks, including following up on patient clinical inquiries.
Maintain a friendly and professional tone in all patient interactions.
Serve as the lead medical assistant for an assigned provider.
Act as the point of contact for updates on outstanding tasks.
Submit and assist with prior authorizations for the assigned provider.
Serve as the point of contact for representatives following up on case or prior authorization status.
Ensure the end-of-day checklist is completed by the provider's MA team.
Ensure rooms are properly stocked and clean at the start and end of the day.
Assist with training new Medical Assistants.
Ensure the 'nurse schedule' is managed appropriately throughout the day.
Perform other duties as assigned.
