About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and evaluating assigned deputy registrar agencies within a designated territory. The role involves conducting onsite visitations, checking revenue and document disposition, ensuring agency opening and closing procedures are followed, and verifying items for return to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles warehouse. The representative will provide training, technical assistance, and direction to contractual personnel in these agencies. The position requires daily travel to locations within the assigned area using a State vehicle and may involve overtime, carrying a pager, and being on-call. The role serves multiple counties including Mercer, Morrow, Paulding, Putnam, Shelby, Van Wert, & Wyandot, and may require service in any of the 31 counties assigned to Field Services.

Requirements

  • Must maintain current driver's license as required by law.
  • Requires travel on daily basis, often to more than one deputy registrar agency
  • May be required to work overtime
  • Required to carry pager
  • May be on-call in accordance with departmental policy
  • May be exposed to inclement weather while driving from one deputy registrar's office to another.
  • Option 1: 2 yrs. exp. in position involved in reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness &/or compliance with reporting guidelines, laws & rules; AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of computer hardware, software & peripheral equipment; AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in typing or word processing; valid driver's license.
  • Option 2: 2 yrs. exp. as office manager or assistant office manager in deputy registrar agency in Ohio; AND valid driver's license.
  • Option 3: 2 yrs. exp. working in Ohio Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, in position dealing with issuance of operator licenses & vehicle registration; AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of computer hardware, software & peripheral equipment; AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in typing or word processing; valid driver's license.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

  • A BCI/FBI fingerprint check, and background check, may be required on all selected applicants.
  • A comparative analysis and/or drug-test may be a requirement of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite visitation & complete periodic & special assignments necessary to over-see, monitor & evaluate & provide training, technical assistance & direction to contractual personnel in assigned deputy registrar agencies, in assigned territory
  • In assigned territory, oversee, monitor & evaluate assigned deputy registrar agencies by conducting onsite visitations
  • Check revenue & document disposition by reviewing end of day reports
  • Complete early &/or late visits to ensure agency open &/or close procedures are ob-served
  • Verify & remove items for return to Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ warehouse to keep deputy registrar agency free of salvage plates, obsolete items, & returned items for credit
