About The Position

KBR is looking for a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support a contract supporting the United States Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT). The DOT has long led efforts to research, develop, and evaluate transportation technologies. The U.S. DOT has strongly supported adopting and using new and innovative technologies—known as intelligent transportation systems (ITS). The ITS Joint Program Office (JPO) and modal partners have been a crucial component of this effort by fostering pioneering research and development in technology (RD&T) and evaluating each generation of ITS. These efforts have enhanced the safety, efficiency, and accessibility of surface transportation for almost three decades. This work helps save lives, improve access and mobility, and increase economic productivity. The ITS JPO collaborates across modal administrations to coordinate and plan the U.S. DOT’s multimodal ITS technology research program, working toward improving transportation safety, mobility, and efficiency and enhancing productivity through the integration of innovative technologies into the nation’s transportation system.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience of excellent verbal, presentation, and writing skills.
  • 10 years of experience in Program Management.
  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative management style that will facilitate interaction with supervisors, colleagues, customers and corporate partners.
  • A BA/BS degree.
  • An active Project Manager’s Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Requires US citizenship or permanent residency

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the Program Executive (PE) with overall management of the base contract, including quality assurance for all products delivered to the Government and availability of resources to complete all Task Orders.
  • Lead the management and multi-modal ITS technical direction of contract activities.
  • Assist the Program Executive in monitoring contract performance with respect to quality of the deliverables, project milestones and project expenditures.
  • Give direction to contractor personnel which will ensure that actions taken and recommendations made are in accordance with the ITS JPO goals and objectives and that such activities fit within the scope of base contract.
  • Ensure that contractor personnel are kept abreast of emerging ITS and related technologies that could impact the ITS JPO’s technical support requirements.
  • Must have a full knowledge and understanding of multi-modal ITS technologies and have worked with all aspects of the ITS program life cycle.
  • Thoroughly familiar with multi-modal ITS concepts, practices, and procedures and have been involved in state-of-the–art ITS programs.
  • Thoroughly familiar with the ITS JPO’s Strategic Plan.
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
