Deputy Manager - Production (Paint Shop)
About The Position
This role is responsible for monitoring the production schedule, ensuring performance targets are met, and identifying cost control and efficiency improvement opportunities within the Paint Shop. The Deputy Manager will also focus on improving Body Work Team (BWT) performance, anticipating and proactively addressing concerns across various stages of the paint process, and driving quality control forums. Ensuring shop floor safety, managing tools and equipment, and understanding paint defects are also key aspects of this position. Additionally, the role involves maintaining Overall Line Effectiveness (OLE) records, coordinating with internal and external customers, managing manpower, and overseeing spare part procurement.
Requirements
- Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical
- Diploma in Surface coating technology / B.Tech in Paint technology
- 3-8 Years of General Experience
- Critical Experience in System Generated Core Skills
- System Generated Secondary Skills

Responsibilities
- Monitor the production schedule according to set targets
- Ensure achievement of measures of Performance (MOP) targets using PDCA approach
- Identify ways to control cost and increase the efficiency of Paint shop production
- Monitor and improve BWT (Body Work Team) performance with respect to PQCDSM
- Anticipate concerns in PT, CED, underbody spray, sealer line, sanding, primer, base coat, top coat , oven, spot repair & wax line and take proactive measures to achieve quick stabilization
- Drive QCRT forums for concern analysis
- Ensure safety on the shop floor and take part in safety related internal/external audits
- Conduct JH & Maintain 3S as per standards
- Tools & equipment Management
- Understanding of ED/Paint defects and Troubleshooting
- Maintain OLE (Overall Line Effectiveness) records, restore minor stoppages & breakdown quickly by taking ICA (Immediate Corrective Action) and PCA (Permanent Corrective Action) to minimize/eliminate recurrence
- Coordinate and provide supporting hand to customers (Internal and External)
