What your day-to-day as a Deputy Install Construction Supervisor will look like: Lead and supervise Construction Specialist staff, including training, timecard approvals, and performance management Support hiring decisions, performance evaluations, and personnel actions including compensation and disciplinary processes Partner with project management to define scope, labor requirements, materials, and execution strategy for construction work Coordinate procurement of materials and ensure accurate documentation of work in progress and completed activities Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and applicable building codes Prepare cost estimates, validate subcontractor invoices, and conduct final acceptance inspections Review and negotiate subcontractor change requests; escalate major impacts to project leadership as needed Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays, conflicts, or subcontractor performance issues Coordinate construction activities with active laboratory operations, including utility impacts, traffic control, and site logistics Oversee subcontractor compliance with ES&H requirements, OSHA standards, manufacturer specifications, and hazard analyses Ensure subcontractors execute proper planning and quality control processes from pre-job meetings through final acceptance Issue and document corrective or disciplinary actions related to non-compliance with technical, safety, or quality standards Provide regular reporting to project management on construction progress, risks, and field issues Maintain accurate and complete documentation across all construction activities Support operational needs, including additional duties as assigned Ensure all work is performed in full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations Skills and Attributes for Success: Strong field leadership presence with the ability to hold subcontractors accountable Confident decision-maker who can balance cost, schedule, and quality under pressure Highly organized with strong attention to detail in documentation and compliance Effective communicator across trades, engineers, and project leadership Ability to manage multiple workstreams in an active, operational environment Practical problem-solver who can anticipate issues before they impact the project Applicable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Proven experience managing heavy industrial or commercial construction projects Broad knowledge across construction disciplines including civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and building systems Strong understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety practices Familiarity with ES&H programs and compliance requirements (FESHM knowledge preferred) Experience with cost estimating, subcontractor management, and construction scheduling Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts Strong written and verbal communication skills Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Associate degree (or equivalent experience) with 15+ years of heavy industrial/commercial construction experience
