About The Position

Oliver Wyman is seeking a Deputy Inorganic Growth Leader to play a high-profile role in driving and executing its global acquisition strategy. This position, with full support from Oliver Wyman and its parent company, Marsh, is crucial for the company's long-term growth goals. The role will support the Chief Growth Officer in guiding the inorganic growth agenda for Oliver Wyman Actuarial (OWA) and Insurance & Asset Management (IAM). The Deputy will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and integrating potential acquisition targets, working closely with cross-functional teams including corporate development, finance, legal, executive, and operations to ensure successful execution of acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 8+ years experience in M&A, Corporate Development or similar role.
  • Knowledge of acquisition and integration concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of benefit and compensation programs and related compliance matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to network with senior business leaders and build strong relationships.
  • Employment history with evidence of rapid learning, high performance, and professional growth.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to facilitate successful deal execution and integration including: OW and Marsh Corporate Development teams, OWA and IAM practice leaders and M&A designees, Global and regional OW inorganic growth leaders, Business Sponsors and Executive Sponsors for active processes.
  • Support the end-to-end acquisition process, including coordinating with necessary stakeholders to facilitate execution.
  • Identify and research acquisition/investment targets across all practices and geographies.
  • Support/project manage the due diligence process on potential targets including assisting Corporate Development with financial analysis, market research, risk assessment, and negotiation.
  • Lead business case development and manage any required internal approval processes.
  • Assist in post-acquisition integration activities, including integration planning and cultural alignment.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to senior staff on how to effectively build relationships with potential targets.
  • Create and provide regular updates for OWA/IAM executive SteerCo.
  • Develop, own and maintain all related M&A materials including, but not limited to, a database of templates for: NDA, Business Case, Fact Sheet, Information Request, IOI, LOI, Transaction Agreement, Integration plan and scorecard.
