The New York City Law Department is seeking an Agency Deputy Director of Security in the Administration Division. This role reports to the Director of Security and is responsible for ensuring the security of persons on agency premises, managing internal investigations, assisting with budget and procurement for security programs, and training staff on security procedures. The position also involves investigating workplace violence, managing ID card issuance and system maintenance, overseeing access control systems, and coordinating with building management on security issues. The Deputy Director will provide safety and security advice to managers, ensure the maintenance of safety equipment like fire extinguishers and evacuation chairs, and represent the agency in meetings regarding security system implementation. A key responsibility is the development and implementation of disaster/emergency response plans, including the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), and coordinating emergency evacuation drills. The role also involves representing the agency in inter-agency meetings related to security and emergency preparedness, coordinating security functions with other city agencies during emergencies, and managing security and law enforcement staff. The Deputy Director will also serve as the agency administrator for Everbridge, the Law Department's emergency notification system.
