The New York City Law Department is seeking an Agency Deputy Director of Security in the Administration Division. This role reports to the Director of Security and is responsible for ensuring the security of persons on agency premises, managing internal investigations, assisting with budget preparation and procurement for security programs, and training staff on visitor management. The position also involves assisting with investigations of workplace violence and fraud prevention, managing ID card issuance and access systems, ensuring the proper functioning of hand readers and finger readers, and coordinating with building management on security issues. The Deputy Director will provide safety and security consultation to agency managers, ensure the maintenance of safety equipment like fire extinguishers and evacuation chairs, and represent the agency in security system implementation meetings. Additionally, this role assists the Director of Security in formulating security policies, developing emergency response plans (including COOP), coordinating evacuation and fire drills, and preparing reports on drill performance. The position also involves coordinating with emergency responders, creating security training requirements, and assisting with the agency's emergency notification system, Everbridge. The role requires conferring with and coordinating security procedures with other City agencies, including emergency service agencies, during emergency situations and civil disturbances.
