Under general supervision, provides customer service to the public by processing payments for citations, fines, fees, and court costs, sets court dates, processes bonds, and answers the telephone, etc. This role involves interacting with clients at the Court Clerk’s window and handling online inquiries, informing clients of fine amounts, processing dismissals, scheduling court dates, and managing requests for driving safety courses and deferred disposition. The position also includes collecting various payments, reconciling transactions, and accurately posting payments to citations. Responsibilities extend to processing phone, internet, and mail requests, monitoring and maintaining court dockets, issuing jury summons, monitoring jurors, and notifying defendants and attorneys of case statuses. The role requires updating statuses, processing case flow in court case management systems, scanning documents, handling mail, and transcribing data. Additionally, it involves assisting in issuing warrants, processing motions, discoveries, expunctions, and appeals, balancing cash drawers, preparing deposits, and providing courtroom assistance during hearings and trials. The position also entails court collections duties, including processing extensions, sending past due notifications, collecting financial assessment forms, and setting defendants on court dockets. A key aspect is reviewing cases with bonds, assessing monies needed or refunds, and reviewing documents for authenticity and accuracy. The role requires monitoring cases for compliance, preparing documentation for judges and prosecutors, and processing Time Served. Entering traffic, parking, and criminal misdemeanor cases into the computer system, and reviewing/proofreading court documents are also essential functions.
