About The Position

This position is responsible for providing customer service, clerical, and bookkeeping support for the operations of the Municipal Court.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience working in court, government agency or criminal justice environment.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain GCIC/NCIC certification.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions and job responsibilities of this position may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance to the general public, attorneys, judges and other interested parties with regards to requests for information, discrepancies, complaints, and other matters.
  • Enters citations and other information into computerized databases.
  • Issues summonses and warrants; arranges for service.
  • Prepares case files for court.
  • Processes disposition of citations and court documents; enters probation orders and sentence modifications signed by Judge.
  • Collects and processes fines and fees; calculates fine balances.
  • Prepares failure to appear notices and failure to appear sentences.
  • Prepares bench warrants and processes warrant clears.
  • Processes arrests; enters arrest tickets and bonds received from the jail.
  • Attends court sessions to provide assistance and collect payments.
  • Certifies documents of prior convictions for public records.
  • Prepares and processes daily deposits.
  • Runs driver history, vehicle registration, and criminal history checks.
  • Issues subpoenas to Police Officers and other witnesses.
  • Clears warrants and license suspensions.
  • Enters dispositions into GCIC database.
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes mail.
  • Collects and receipts payments.
  • Prepares dockets for hearings.
  • Completes a variety of regular and special reports.
  • Rotates to various primary assignments as directed.
  • Performs related duties.
