About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to provide administrative and clerical support to an assigned Court. This role involves a variety of tasks including assisting with work activities of co-workers, performing customer service functions, processing court-related documentation, entering data into computer systems, collecting and processing fees, and participating in special projects. The position requires attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and record keeping, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of experience providing administrative or clerical support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading work activities of co-workers, providing technical expertise, and training on operational procedures.
  • Perform customer service functions via telephone, mail, and in person, providing information and assistance regarding court activities, services, procedures, documentation, fees, and case status.
  • Review and accept legal documents in accordance with court procedures and prescribed time frames.
  • Distribute forms and documentation, and respond to routine and complex questions or complaints.
  • Research and initiate problem resolution for customer inquiries.
  • Process various court-related documentation, including subpoenas, court orders, hearings, continuances, warrants, case initiation documents, case dispositions, citations, and deeds.
  • Receive, date stamp, distribute, and submit legal documents to appropriate parties.
  • Review, verify, record, and file documentation and records.
  • Create spreadsheets and reports of activities.
  • Enter data from court and legal documents into computer systems, databases, and applications.
  • Scan, index, and record court case information and legal documents.
  • Audit and review data for accuracy and update case disposition information.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Collect, record, and process fees, including court payments, taxes, and recording fees.
  • Enter payments and post checks into specified computer applications.
  • Assign fees to the proper case or property and balance monies received.
  • Participate in special projects as requested by an assigned judge.
  • Coordinate staff activities with other units or divisions.
  • Attend court for arraignments, motions, pretrial and trial court calendars, and court proceedings.
  • Testify during court hearings as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
