The Seattle Times, a family-owned news organization and one of the nation’s premier regional news sources, is seeking a leader to join our award-winning business team. As the Deputy Business Editor, you will help guide an eight-person team that covers aerospace, the tech sector, real estate, affordability challenges and the health of the local economy. We are looking for someone who inspires, coaches and empowers journalists. The Deputy Business Editor will oversee reporters and collaborate with the Business Editor on coverage of regional economic and employment trends as well as major Northwest players such as Boeing, Amazon, Microsoft, Costco and Starbucks. The successful candidate will know how to balance breaking news, deep-dive enterprise and watchdog stories, and will tailor high-concept and complex stories to a general readership, showing how business news affects workers, small-business owners, consumers, homebuyers/renters and others who call the Pacific Northwest home.
