About The Position

The Deputy Branch Manager is a leadership role within the Retail Banking business, responsible for managing and scaling branch operations to achieve growth targets. The role involves overseeing daily administration, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality customer service. A key aspect of the role is building strong relationships with local dealers and business communities to drive business volumes and position the bank as their preferred financial partner. The incumbent is accountable for expanding the branch footprint, increasing product penetration, and ensuring operational excellence through cost-effective and technology-driven practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in banking or allied financial services.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of retail banking operations and compliance.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on execution and results.
  • Ability to drive sales and cross-sell financial products.
  • Proficiency in audit handling and operational risk management.
  • Commitment to digital enablement and process automation.
  • Ability to attract and retain top talent in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English with strong business communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and administration of the branch, ensuring strict compliance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service and ensure timely resolution of customer queries and issues.
  • Lead and complete branch audits conducted by external auditors and ensure closure of audit observations.
  • Develop and implement action plans to drive profitability through branch operations and cross-selling.
  • Stay updated on product offerings to provide relevant advice to customers.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of the branch in line with banking norms and operational standards.
  • Monitor branch sales targets and drive acquisition of new accounts while expanding existing relationships through financial products and services.
  • Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, and training for both on-roll and off-roll employees to build a high-performing team.
  • Provide coaching, development, and guidance to branch personnel to enhance performance.
  • Evaluate and implement new initiatives across offerings, channels, and processes to improve operational efficiency.
