Summary: While reporting directly to the department supervisor, directly assist hourly employees to meet quality, productivity, and performance goals.

Requirements

  • Ability to be a strong team player and work in a team environment with a diverse group of personalities.
  • Responsible for operating equipment, performing setup tasks, and fulfilling department coordinator responsibilities.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a high paced working environment.
  • Ability to meet standard production efficiency.
  • Managing JD Edwards shop floor procedures.
  • Employee training and development.
  • Provide leadership to coordinate employee production and performance.
  • Paperwork related to assigned area must be completed daily.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement events (CSI) and projects.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines as it pertains to our plant; Hazcom, Lockout/tagout, hearing conservation and personal protective equipment.
  • Monitor production performance, identify areas of improvement, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Collaborate under supervision to oversee, prioritize staffing assignments, adjust plans to accommodate high-priority tasks, and coordinate machine demand and individual capabilities.
  • Work with material handler to ensure inventory levels and proper stock rotation are completed.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Conduct productive DIM meetings that effectively communicate the daily goals and previous shift performance of machinery.
  • Work effectively with other departments that support the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure that all relevant quality and productivity data is recorded, reported, and actioned in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Assist in development of new product and existing production processes.
  • Mentor and set an example for all staff on the production floor.
  • Act as a point of contact on the production floor to all other assigned departments.
  • Make sure that production personnel adhere to proper manufacturing procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance on equipment and partner with supervisor for equipment troubleshooting and repair.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with employees.
  • Help setup personnel maintain the operation of scheduled machines while conducting setup tasks and addressing halted machinery.
  • Adapt the plan for high priority items.
  • Verify that the appropriate raw materials are positioned correctly at the designated machinery.
  • Verify inventory transfer with weekly location audits.
