About The Position

The Depot Service Technician will perform testing and troubleshooting on MAKO robotic systems and components. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment and assemblies, as well as supporting the refurbishment and repair of robotic parts for field operations. The technician will test various robotic components, assist in improving service procedures and documentation, and partner with engineers on repairs and process enhancements. This is a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail, compliance with quality standards and FDA regulations, and participation in ongoing technical training to build expertise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Ability to lift or maneuver up to 65 pounds
  • Experience operating hand tools and power tools
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelors degree
  • At least 2 years of experience with conducting mechanical troubleshooting and reading/following work instructions
  • Experience with: soldering, pinning & crimping, ESD handling/knowledge & electrical circuit testing, transmission cabling, system testing & system troubleshooting
  • Experience utilizing software systems such as inventory tracking software, Trackwise, Windchill OnePLM, and/or SAP

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and troubleshooting on MAKO robotic systems and components
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electro-mechanical equipment and assemblies
  • Support refurbishment and repair of robotic parts for field operations
  • Test motors, encoders, brakes, instruments, and other robotic components
  • Assist with continuous improvement of service procedures and technical documentation
  • Partner with manufacturing and service engineers on repairs and process enhancements
  • Complete a variety of technical and operational tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and FDA regulations
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while performing inspections and testing
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and development programs to build robotic repair expertise
