The Vision of the Office of Financial Institutions is that Louisiana’s financial services industry, under the jurisdiction and diligent supervision of the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions, will be a thriving, competitive, progressive provider of economic resources to businesses and individuals. The industry will comply with laws protecting the rights of the general public with whom they interact. In the furtherance of the Office's vision, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing all activities within the Depository Division of the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions. The Depository Compliance Examiner Chief oversees the development and implementation of examination-related policies and procedures for areas of responsibility to ensure safety, soundness, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws, rules, and policies. Incumbent prepares and reviews proposed legislation; offers information/input on proposed legislation to legislative committee members; reads and reviews industry publications to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of recent events and trends; attends meetings with Financial Institutions' executives and directors; and interacts with other state and federal regulatory agencies to discuss issues, solve problems, and exchange information. Incumbent also performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Deputy Commissioner and/or Commissioner.
