About The Position

Base is seeking an Operations Specialist to own the financial and process analysis function for its Deployments Warehousing & Logistics team. This role involves building models, KPIs, and reporting to identify cost inefficiencies, process breakdowns, and areas for investment. It's a high-visibility position that will influence key operational decisions, requiring a candidate comfortable with both spreadsheets and warehouse operations, bringing financial or strategic rigor to a fast-paced team.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, operations analytics, strategy, or supply chain in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong financial modeling skills—able to build unit economics models, cost-benefit analyses, and scenario models from scratch in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience defining and tracking operational KPIs; comfort building dashboards or reports in BI tools (Looker, Grafana, Tableau, or similar).
  • SQL proficiency —you’ll need to pull and manipulate data independently.
  • Ability to translate messy operational data into clear insights and concise recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Comfort collaborating with Finance and Accounting on cost modeling, financial close processes, and intercompany transactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations is a strong plus—you need to understand what the numbers represent.

Responsibilities

  • Help capture warehousing and logistics key metrics—tracking cost per install, cost per transfer, and cost per location across all active markets.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to develop and maintain business processes surrounding deployed hardware.
  • Collaborate on month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate inventory and transaction capture.
  • Identify process inefficiencies through data analysis and present structured, evidence-based recommendations to improve cost, speed, or quality.
  • Own process documentation for active and newly launched markets to ensure operational consistency and create a baseline for continuous improvement.
  • Develop models and financial analysis to support build vs. buy decisions and aid contract evaluations.
