About The Position

Base is seeking an Operations Specialist to manage the day-to-day operations of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, subcontractor consigned inventory, and deployment-specific parts. This role is crucial for ensuring field teams have the necessary materials for installations as Base scales its battery deployments across the country. The position involves building programs from scratch, standardizing workflows, and integrating them into internal systems for scalability. It sits at the intersection of supply chain operations, systems thinking, and field enablement.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in supply chain operations, industrial engineering, inventory management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage VMI or consignment programs from scratch.
• Strong organizational skills with a bias toward documentation, process clarity, and follow-through.
• Experience working in or alongside field operations teams (e.g., construction, utilities, installation services).
• Comfort with ERP or WMS platforms; able to translate operational needs into system requirements.
• Analytical mindset—comfortable pulling data, identifying trends, and driving decisions from insights.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Build systems and documentation to manage consigned inventory for subcontractor electricians, including material ordering, pickup staging, damage/loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Define accountability processes and audit mechanisms to track and reconcile subcontractor-held inventory.
• Coordinate warehouse staging activities for subcontractor material pick-up and return.
• Establish, manage, and coordinate stocking and replenishment for all Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs across new and existing metro markets.
• Own VMI kickoff for all new market launches in coordination with the warehouse standup team.
• Transition VMI and subcontractor inventory processes from hands-on coordination to standardized, automated workflows.
• Define and document requirements for integration with internal systems to support long-term scalability.
