About The Position

SS&C Advent is seeking a detail-oriented, technically proficient Deployment Engineer to plan, execute, and support software deployments for critical financial applications. The role supports Advent financial software products in client environments, including upgrades, patches, and new installations, and works to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. The position is hybrid in Dallas, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; or Jacksonville, Florida, with a Tuesday–Saturday workweek and participation in weekend upgrade work.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 2 years of experience in software deployment, release engineering, or a DevOps role.
Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Experience with deployment automation tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity, or Octopus Deploy.
Strong understanding of Windows and Linux Server operating systems and database technologies; SQL Server is preferred.
Familiarity with network configurations and infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute software deployments of Advent financial software products in client environments, including upgrades, patches, and new installations.
Develop and maintain deployment documentation, including installation guides, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures.
Automate deployment processes and build CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and support teams to support successful deployments and address pre- and post-deployment issues.
Perform post-deployment validation and testing to verify system functionality and performance.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot deployment-related issues with clients and internal teams.
Participate in weekend upgrade work and provide deployment support as needed.
Identify and implement best practices for software deployment, configuration management, and system administration.
Conduct root cause analysis of deployment failures and implement preventative measures.
