Deployed AI Product Strategist

JFrog•Sunnyvale, CA

About The Position

JFrog is seeking a Deployed AI Product Strategist embedded in the San Francisco AI ecosystem. The role’s “customer” is the broader SF AI community, and its primary deliverable is intelligence that informs JFrog’s product, strategy, and roadmap. The strategist will work directly under the CTO and represent JFrog as a peer in the community, developing a grounded understanding of emerging tools, working patterns, and enterprise pain points. The position connects external AI activity with JFrog’s internal teams. It involves scouting the ecosystem, assessing trends and vendors, building relationships, discovering product opportunities, prototyping and evaluating emerging technologies, advising on technical direction, and sharing findings with executive and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a technical or product engineering role, such as FDE, Field Engineering, DevRel, or ML.
  • Firsthand experience building with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic frameworks.
  • Deep involvement in the San Francisco AI ecosystem and an active network there.
  • A public technical footprint, such as a blog, Substack newsletter, X feed, or open-source contributions.
  • An empathetic, inbound-first listening approach and the ability to distill high-volume external signals into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to rapidly evaluate architectural tradeoffs and stress-test developer tools to assess their platform utility.

Responsibilities

  • Build a structured view of emerging AI vendors and startups, assessing which are enterprise-ready and which may be overhyped; deliver actionable signal briefs to executive stakeholders.
  • Track emerging AI tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns ahead of mainstream adoption, and use findings to inform product strategy and the roadmap.
  • Cultivate authentic peer-to-peer relationships with AI enthusiasts, founders, and enterprise practitioners, building credibility in local AI and developer communities.
  • Map active builders, emerging workflows, and problem-solving trends; maintain a living knowledge base to uncover product insights and strategic opportunities.
  • Prototype and assess new APIs, tools, and agentic frameworks, producing concise technical evaluations of their utility, limitations, and strategic relevance.
  • Drive high-level technical discourse on LLMs, RAG architectures, fine-tuning, training, and agentic infrastructure to help guide product direction.
  • Connect the external AI ecosystem with JFrog teams by partnering with Product, Engineering, and GTM to refine the platform roadmap and competitive positioning.
  • Lead regular technical briefing sessions on emerging AI trends to support organizational alignment.
