About The Position

This position will proactively monitor developing crime trends and regularly report their findings through documented reports and in-person presentations. This position is dedicated to creating, implementing, and maintaining new trend analysis initiatives using MICR data. As a dedicated liaison with external stakeholders, and the internal point of contact for crime trend needs, this position cultivates and maintains professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position will work closely with the Michigan State Police Michigan Intelligence Operations Center to ensure common goals are met without duplicating efforts. This position will collaborate with MICR Unit analysts that focus on creating data visuals and extracting data to create both commonly requested and specialized reports. The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
  • Passing a pre-employment screening, including a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
  • Attachment of a cover letter/memo, resume, and official college transcripts (if applicable) to the application.
