About The Position

The School of Social Work at the University of Iowa is seeking a Graduate Coordinator to provide primary support to the department’s Director, Associate Director, Administrator, Directors of Graduate Studies, and Director of Undergraduate Studies for all social work programs. This role will lead enrollment management, academic planning, and curricular management processes for all certificates and degree programs within the department. The position will also serve as backup for the departmental office reception and may involve supervising student staff.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year of related administrative and program experience.
  • Experience working in a university department or program to support students.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Ability to meet timelines and multitask.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications including Excel and Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Two+ years of related University program experience.
  • Experience working in a "team based" environment.
  • Some knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Experience working with undergraduate & graduate students.

Responsibilities

  • Collect enrollment data from multiple sources to maintain spreadsheets used to determine the number of course sections and faculty needs.
  • Assist in entering course updates in MAUI related to prerequisites, corequisites, requirements, course recommendations, restrictions, and special permissions.
  • Participate in the management of course enrollments.
  • Monitor graduate student progress, schedule exams, and verify degree requirements.
  • Compile assessment data required for accreditation annual reports.
  • Serve as backup to the departmental office reception area.
  • Possible supervision of student staff.
