About The Position

The School of Social Work at the University of Iowa is seeking a Graduate Coordinator to provide primary support to the department’s Director, Associate Director, Administrator, Directors of Graduate Studies, and Director of Undergraduate Studies for all social work programs. This role will lead enrollment management, academic planning, and curricular management processes for all certificates and degree programs within the department. Additionally, the position will serve as backup for the departmental office reception and may involve supervising student staff.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 1 year related administrative and program experience
• Experience working in a university department or program to support students.
• Detailed oriented. Be able to meet timelines and be able to multiple tasks.
• Must be proficient in computer software applications including Excel and Teams.

Nice To Haves

• Two+ years related University program experience
• Experience working in a “team based” environment.
• Some knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations
• Experience working with undergraduate & graduate students

Responsibilities

• Collect enrollment data from multiple sources to maintain spreadsheets used to determine number of courses sections and faculty needs.
• Assist to enter course updates in MAUI related to prereqs, coreqs, requirements, course recommendations, restrictions and special permissions.
• Participate in the management of course enrollments.
• Monitor graduate student progress, schedule exams, and verify degree requirements as needed.
• Compiling assessment data required for accreditation annual reports.
