About The Position

The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking an individual to work in public service as an Outreach Coordinator in the Office of Consumer Services. This position is an opportunity to build a lifelong career doing work that truly matters - helping to protect consumers and maintain public confidence in Michigan’s insurance and financial services industries. The right candidate will support Michigan consumers by developing and implementing educational programs on insurance and financial services, including no-fault automobile insurance. As an Outreach Coordinator, you will serve as the office’s primary resource for consumer education and will work with DIFS’ Office of Communications to draft educational materials and presentations on insurance and financial topics. This role also requires travel to deliver presentations and engage directly with consumers and external stakeholder groups, representing the department and providing clear, accessible information on key issues.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount is required.
  • Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
  • Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
