About The Position

The Michigan State Lottery is seeking a dependable, honest, motivated, and hardworking individual with a positive attitude and strong ethical standards to join their team. The Michigan State Lottery generates revenue through the sale of Lottery tickets to support Michigan's public-school system and its education programs. This position is responsible for supporting the functions of the Bureau of State Lottery drawing systems and processes. The role involves coordinating with Lottery Gaming Vendors, Internal Control System Vendors, WDIV Studio, and the Multi-State Lottery (MUSL) for all drawings and bureau functions with the utmost integrity to maximize net revenues for state education programs. Key responsibilities include conducting research and analysis of system drawing data, organizing and maintaining reports in Cypress, balancing drawing data between the Internal Control System (ICS), WDIV Studio, and Gaming Vendors during draw times, supporting the development and testing of new games, providing spreadsheets for reporting and tracking, and processing data downloads/uploads, production reports, and creating ad hoc reports. The Scheduling Unit provides expertise, research, insights, and technical support for Lottery drawing processing system functions, including Multi-State Lottery (MUSL) drawing programs.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount is required.
  • Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
  • Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Must submit to an initial background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must not make any false statements or omissions of a material fact during the selection process.
  • Must provide a urine sample for a drug test within the allowed time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate with Lottery Gaming Vendors, Internal Control System Vendors, WDIV Studio, and the Multi-State Lottery (MUSL) all drawings and bureau functions with nothing less than total integrity necessary to maximize net revenues to supplement state education programs.
  • Conduct research and analysis of system drawing data.
  • Organize and maintain reports in Cypress related to system outputs.
  • Balance drawing data during draw time between the Internal Control System (ICS), WDIV Studio, and the Gaming Vendors.
  • Support the development and testing of new games.
  • Provide spreadsheets for reporting and tracking purposes.
  • Process downloads and uploads of data, production reports, and creation of ad hoc reports.
  • Support Lottery drawing processing system functions including Multi State Lottery (MUSL) drawing programs.
  • Provide expertise, research, insights and technical support.
