This position is responsible for processing and monitoring gross adjustments (over $5 Billion annually) through the Community Health Automated Medicaid Processing System (CHAMPS) for the Health Services Administration (HSA) and the Behavioral and Physical Health and Aging Services Administration (BPHASA). CHAMPS is an on-line processing system used by medical providers for billing and reimbursement for services provided through healthcare programs administered by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The role involves monitoring and researching gross adjustments in both Managed Care Payments and Fee for Service sub-systems, entering account code rules into CHAMPS for payment processing, ensuring correct coding in the accounting system, and serving as a backup IT liaison for HSA or for other duties within the Financial and Administrative Services Section within BPHASA. The Departmental Analyst 12 (A level) is specifically the Gross Adjustment Expert and the recognized resource for all gross adjustments for both Managed Care and Fee for Service sub-systems within CHAMPS, serving as the primary contact for related inquiries.
