About The Position

The Department Supervisor is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, keeping the store clean and organized, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Supervisor coordinates truck delivery and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors productivity, and organizes back stock to support replenishment. The role also upholds merchandising, signage, cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards; communicates priorities and progress to management and Associates; and partners with Management on training needs. The Supervisor supports store shrink-reduction goals and promotes credit and loyalty programs.

Requirements

1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Execute receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team.
Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and role-model exceptional customer service.
Promote a positive internal and external customer experience, honesty, and integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
