Department Manager - Hardware - Jamestown, NY
About The Position
The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned Hardware department and providing the highest level of customer service. The position reports to the Store Manager and requires the ability to work days, nights, and every other weekend. The hourly pay range is $17.00–$18.00, depending on experience. The role is based in a retail store environment. Duties and criteria listed are representative of typical job requirements and are not all-inclusive. Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work an irregular schedule, including days, nights, and every other weekend.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Frequent bending and twisting.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma preferred.
- Customer service training and/or experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate merchandising of assigned products.
- Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the assigned department.
- Ensure adequate inventory throughout the assigned department.
- Assist customers with purchases.
- Work with Retail Buyers to communicate department product needs and other product information.
- Assist with training and directing new department team members.
- Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
