About The Position

The Department Manager is the branch’s Hardscape expert, working with customers on needs within the department and helping ensure excellent service. The role supports the Branch Manager with sales and operations planning, demand forecasting, and coordination of supply and demand plans. It promotes workplace safety, oversees inventory management and departmental sales, develops employees’ knowledge of Hardscape products, and works with branch leadership to implement technologies and improved ways of working. The manager also supports other branch departments and customers as needed.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and management skills.
• Experience with sales and operations planning and forecasting.
• Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgets.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of green industry experience and an understanding of Hardscape products.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with sales and operations planning, statistical demand forecasting, and integration of supply and demand plans.
• Promote an incident-free environment by emphasizing safety and leading by example.
• Encourage a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training, and execution of policies.
• Understand and execute inventory management principles, target customer mix, and sales.
• Create a positive, team-oriented employee environment aligned with SiteOne DNA.
• Train and develop staff to understand the Hardscape product line and customer needs and help achieve departmental sales goals.
• Partner with branch leadership to understand and implement technologies and new ways of working that can improve business performance.
• Support other branch departments and customers as needed.
