About The Position

The Department Manager, referred to as a Coach, leads and inspires a team at the Nike Factory Store in Southaven, Mississippi. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer experiences, fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment, and representing Nike’s brand and culture of sport. The manager applies retail expertise to support store growth strategies and develop community partnerships. This position oversees store operations and team performance, including staffing, training, customer service, sales, budgeting, planning, people leadership, and product presentation. The role is full-time, 34–40 hours per week, and includes nights and weekends; mornings and holidays may also be required as needed.

Requirements

Three years of customer-facing retail or hospitality experience.
One year of leadership experience.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, build, and lead high-performing teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail business systems.
Ability to bend, squat, reach, climb a ladder, and stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Proven ability to use tools for conflict resolution and employee coaching and counseling.
Ability to work mornings, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and inspire the team to deliver strong customer experiences and help team members feel included and supported.
Train the team and implement Nike Service Principles while representing Nike’s brand, culture, colleagues, and community.
Lead store functions and business results, including critical metrics, budgeting, planning, customer service, sales, and people leadership and management.
Attract, assess, and onboard new team members to ensure the store is appropriately staffed.
Equip store employees with the tools they need for their day-to-day responsibilities.
Manage the product life cycle from the stockroom through visual merchandising and onto the sales floor.
Support store growth strategies and create opportunities to build community partnerships.
Use conflict-resolution tools and employee coaching and counseling to support team members.
