About The Position
The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned department and providing the highest level of customer service. The position reports to the Store Manager and requires the ability to work days, nights, and an alternating weekend schedule. The hourly pay range is $16.00–$18.00, depending on experience. The role involves coordinating product merchandising and distribution, maintaining adequate inventory, assisting customers, collaborating with Retail Buyers about department needs and product information, helping train and direct new team members, and ensuring safe merchandise handling. Other duties may be assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work an irregular work schedule.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Frequent bending and twisting.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma preferred.
- Customer service training and/or experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
- Set priorities for distributing new merchandise within the assigned department.
- Ensure adequate inventory throughout the assigned department.
- Assist customers with purchases.
- Work with Retail Buyers to communicate assigned department product needs and other product information.
- Assist with training and directing new department team members.
- Ensure employees and customers practice safety when handling merchandise.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
