About The Position

The Department Assistant supports assigned store departments and reports to the assistant store manager or immediate supervisor. The role involves processing donated merchandise, stocking and displaying items, maintaining merchandise and work areas, and assisting other departments when needed. Work takes place in a production and retail environment, with temperature fluctuations and occasional exposure to dust from donations. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform basic functions.

Responsibilities

• Sort, package, and occasionally price donations to supply assigned departments with merchandise.
• Display merchandise in designated areas on the sales floor.
• Perform the responsibilities of various departments when the Pricer is absent.
• Keep the production department clean and materials stocked.
• Clean the personal work area daily, removing dust and damaged goods.
• Keep the sales floor shoppable by ragging, balancing, and rotating seasonal merchandise.
• Perform other duties and special assignments as directed, including assignments outside the primary area of employment.
