About The Position
The Dentist provides dental services to inmate patients at the assigned institution while following facility security regulations. The role includes delivering dental care and treatment to referred patients, evaluating dental needs, and recommending clinically appropriate care. The Dentist maintains accurate, timely, and confidential documentation and provides it to the director or designee to support compliance with the client contract and proper compensation for services rendered. The role also includes instructing patients in dental hygiene and providing in-service training for health staff.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.
- Maintain current licensure as a dentist in the state of employment.
- Obtain and maintain CPR certification.

- One year of experience in general dentistry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
- Perform routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
- Evaluate patients’ dental care needs and make clinically appropriate recommendations.
- Take impressions for dental appliances and instruct patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records and provide records to the director or designee.
- Provide in-service training for health staff members.
- Adhere to the security regulations of the assigned facility.
