The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a dedicated Dentist to join the team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Forest. Requirements

• Graduation from an approved school of dentistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
• Possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide examinations, diagnose oral diseases, and deliver dental treatment to inmates
• Supervise the daily work of assigned dental staff
• Assist specialists during on-site procedures
• Maintain required tool control, security measures, and material handling procedures
• Consult with and refer patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care professionals
