Requirements

• Graduation from an approved school of dentistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
• Possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine dental treatment, perform examinations, diagnose oral diseases, and treat injuries
• Perform dental procedures and assist specialists during on-site treatments
• Supervise daily dental staff activities and ensure proper tool, security, and material controls
• Consult with and refer inmate patients to physicians, oral surgeons, or other health professionals as needed
• Maintain high standards of care while supporting a safe and well-organized clinical environment
