Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved school of dentistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dental examinations, diagnose oral conditions, and provide needed treatment
  • Oversee daily work of dental staff to maintain smooth and efficient operations
  • Assist specialists and carry out related duties when advanced care is required
  • Maintain security, tool control, and safe handling of toxic and caustic materials
  • Refer patients to physicians, surgeons, or other health care professionals when needed
