About The Position

Smile Virginia is seeking a general dentist to provide dental care to underserved children at schools in Roanoke, Virginia, and surrounding areas. The school-based mobile dental program brings preventive and restorative dental services directly to students at school, using portable equipment or a self-contained mobile dental facility. The work follows the school day, typically about 6–7 hours, averaging 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., with evenings, weekends, and summers off. Full- and part-time opportunities are available. A relocation or sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 is available for some areas of Virginia.

Smile Programs is an in-school dental program serving children who may face barriers to accessing care. Through dental partners, the organization provides preventive and restorative care to approximately 500,000 children annually and operates in 20 states, with partnerships involving more than 8,000 school districts. Dentists work with state-licensed hygienists and assistants to provide care onsite while minimizing disruption to the school routine.

Requirements

• DMD or DDS degree.
• Ability to work well with both children and adults.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel daily to and from school sites.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
