About The Position

At Open Door Community Health Centers, we provide every patient with compassionate, whole-person care through our Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy services across California's North Coast. We are looking for a General Dentist to join our integrated care team at Fortuna CHC, in Fortuna, California. This is an outpatient practice with excellent work-life balance, flexible scheduling, and no hospital call. There are teaching, mentorship, and leadership opportunities available. The practice utilizes state-of-the-art technology, modern equipment, and a highly trained clinical team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered dental care in a safe and comfortable environment. As a Dentist, you'll practice at the full scope of general dentistry to all ages while developing meaningful, long-term relationships with your patients. You'll provide preventive, diagnostic, restorative, and urgent dental care for individuals with diverse and often complex oral health needs. Working alongside interdisciplinary colleagues, you'll help address the social, behavioral, and medical factors that impact oral health while improving access to quality dental care in a community that truly values your work. Fortuna, California, nestled in the scenic Eel River Valley of Humboldt County, offers a welcoming small-town atmosphere surrounded by redwood forests, rivers, and the Pacific coastline. Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
  • Current, unrestricted California dental license.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Valid California driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited General Practice Residency (GPR) or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program.
  • Two to five years of clinical experience, particularly in community health, public health, rural practice, or caring for underserved populations.
  • CAP-exempt visa sponsorship available.
  • Opportunity to participate in our optional one-year AEGD Residency Program with NYU Langone.
