About The Position

This position assesses patient needs and plans and delivers comprehensive and emergency dental services to patients of all ages. The role is full-time, with providers generally expected to work more than 40 hours per week performing clinical, laboratory, and recordkeeping functions. Patient access is a primary consideration in setting individual work schedules and clinic hours. Providers should anticipate the possibility of working at multiple locations; clinics are open Monday through Saturday. The dentist provides faculty supervision to residents and is responsible for their competent provision of care to patients of the Center. The Dental Director determines the allocation of time between patient care and support of the residency program. The position is based at the Dental Clinic on the main campus in Waianae.

Requirements

• Possess a valid, recognized dental license to practice in the State of Hawaii.
• Accredited U.S. dental graduates who have not taken the Hawaii State Dental Board examination or ADEX must obtain a Temporary or Community Health Center Hawaii Dental license.
• A current DEA and State Narcotic Registration are required for all licenses except a Temporary license.
• BLS certification is required within three months of hire if not already held at the time of employment.
• Possess a valid State of Hawaii Driver’s License and a vehicle for offsite travel if necessary.
