About The Position
Smile Virginia, a school-based mobile dental practice, is seeking a general dentist in the Roanoke, Virginia area to provide dental care to underserved children at their schools. The in-school program offers an alternative to a traditional dental practice, with workdays that end with the school day and no nights or weekends. It may suit dentists seeking supplemental income, working parents, recent graduates, those approaching retirement, and others who want to make a difference in dentistry. Dentists work a school-day schedule of about 6–7 hours, averaging between 8:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Care is provided onsite at schools using portable dental equipment or in a self-contained mobile dental facility. Smile Programs works through state-licensed dental professionals and provides preventive and restorative care to children. Full- and part-time positions are available, with flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.
Requirements
- DMD or DDS degree.
- Ability to work well with both children and adults.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel daily to and from school sites.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
