About The Position

This role involves providing comprehensive dental services in accordance with the American Dental Association (ADA) Standards of Practice. The dentist will be responsible for patient examinations, treatment planning, and performing a wide range of dental procedures. This includes restorative work, preventative care, surgical interventions, and prosthodontics. The position also requires accurate record-keeping, including digital radiographs and patient charts in EDR. The dentist will work in both clinic and outreach settings, potentially without direct supervision, and will supervise dental assistants and hygiene students.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
  • Valid dental license in the state of practice.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of general dentistry, including restorative, preventative, and surgical procedures.
  • Experience with digital radiography and electronic dental records (EDR).
  • Ability to administer local anesthesia.
  • Knowledge of ADA Standards of Practice.
  • Ability to work independently in outreach settings.
  • Supervisory experience or willingness to supervise.
  • Skill in preparing and cementing prostheses (fixed and removable).
  • Proficiency in root canal therapy and periodontal procedures (scaling, root planing, curettage).
  • Experience with impression materials and model preparation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in minor oral surgery.
  • Familiarity with case design for prosthodontics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dental services within the Standards of Practice set forth in the American Dental Association (ADA) guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in EDR.
  • Take accurate intraoral digital radiographs and record them in patient's records.
  • Conduct complete examinations of dental patients.
  • Prepare cavities and fill primary and permanent teeth.
  • Remove calculus deposits and stains from teeth surfaces.
  • Administer injections of anesthesia.
  • Extract diseased teeth.
  • Apply fluoride treatments to patients' teeth.
  • Perform root canal therapy.
  • Conduct gingival curettage, scaling and root planing, and prophylaxis.
  • Perform minor surgeries.
  • Prepare and cement fixed prostheses.
  • Prepare and deliver removable prostheses.
  • Work in an outreach setting without supervision.
  • Supervise dental assistants or hygiene students in clinic and field settings.
  • Properly mix impression materials for taking impressions.
  • Ensure accurately poured and trimmed models.
  • Develop diagnosis, treatment plans, and case designs for patients.
  • Prepare dentition for removable partial frameworks and fixed prostheses.
