About The Position

The Dentist provides dental services to inmate patients at an assigned institution while following the facility’s security regulations. The role includes maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of services and providing records to the director or designee to support compliance with the client contract and appropriate compensation for services rendered. Dental clinics are held on Saturdays or Sundays, and backup coverage is needed for at least one 8-hour shift per month.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.
• Maintain current licensure as a dentist in the state of employment.
• Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
• Reside in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in general dentistry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
• Perform routine cleanings, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
• Evaluate patients’ dental care needs and make clinically appropriate recommendations.
• Take impressions for dental appliances and instruct patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records and provide documentation to the director or designee.
• Provide in-service training for health staff members.
• Adhere to the security regulations of the assigned facility.
