About The Position

This part-time contractual position at the Carroll County Health Department provides dental services, including oral examinations, obtaining radiographs, and general dental care. The dentist also provides guidance to lower-level dental healthcare personnel within the program. Services may be provided on-site or at off-site events.

Requirements

• Meet the education requirements established by the State Board of Dental Examiners for dentist licensure.
• Possess a current Dentist license from the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.
• Possess, or be eligible to obtain, federal and Maryland controlled substances registration certificates to prescribe narcotic medications.
• May be required to complete training in and maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• Experience working with a local health department or in a similar clinical setting.

Responsibilities

Benefits

• Contractual employees meeting the stated eligibility requirements may receive subsidized health and prescription coverage for themselves and eligible dependents; the employee pays 25% of premiums and the State subsidizes the remaining 75%.
• Employees may elect dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, paying the full premiums.
• Leave may be granted after working 120 days in a 12-month period, accruing at one hour per 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per calendar year.
