Coxsackie Dental Arts is seeking an organized, personable, and customer-focused Dental Patient Care Coordinator / Patient Service Representative to join our growing team. Requirements

  • Previous dental office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and CDT codes
  • Understanding of dental insurance verification, billing, and claims processing
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients with professionalism and warmth
  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
  • Assist patients with completing required forms and documentation
  • Schedule, reschedule, confirm, and cancel appointments
  • Coordinate follow-up visits and patient reminders
  • Help maintain efficient patient flow and appointment schedules
  • Maintain accurate electronic dental records (EDR)
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
  • Manage document scanning, filing, faxing, and record organization
  • Maintain front office supplies and place orders as needed
  • Ensure reception and patient areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Collect patient payments and discuss financial arrangements
  • Explain insurance co-pays, deductibles, and balances due
  • Submit and track dental insurance claims
  • Manage accounts receivable and assist with collections efforts
  • Enter payment information accurately into patient ledgers
  • Answer billing and insurance-related questions
  • Resolve patient concerns and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Support patient referral and marketing initiatives
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Participate in office emergency procedures as required
  • Manage petty cash and other administrative duties
