About The Position

Under the supervision of a qualified Dentist, the Dental Hygienist assesses patient needs and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to clinic patients. The role uses established dental hygiene protocols and procedures and performs some clerical duties related to the dental program. The position is listed as 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma representing successful completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current New Mexico Dental Hygienist licensure throughout employment.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current BLS/CPR certification that meets the requirements in the document “BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources” posted on Staurolite.
• Obtain New Mexico Certification for Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienists within six months of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
• Successfully complete the initial post-offer screening requirements.
• Comply with required healthcare personnel testing and immunizations, including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella; influenza vaccination is required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
