About The Position

Under the supervision of a qualified Dentist, the Dental Hygienist assesses patient needs and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to clinic patients. The position uses established dental hygiene protocols and procedures and performs some clerical duties related to the dental program.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma representing successful completion of an associate or bachelor's degree from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current New Mexico Dental Hygienist licensure.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current BLS/CPR certification meeting the requirements in the “BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources” document posted on Staurolite.
• Obtain New Mexico Certification for Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienists within six months of hire and maintain it current throughout employment.
• Successfully complete initial post-offer screening.
• Comply with required testing and immunizations under PMS Human Resources Policy 205.006, including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella. Influenza vaccines are required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
